National Minority AIDS Council
The National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC), a nonprofit organization located on the U Street Corridor of Washington, D.C., was founded in 1987 to “build leadership within communities of color to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS.” The sole national organization addressing the AIDS epidemic in communities of color, NMAC represents over 3,000 community- and faith-based organizations nationwide.
